We camped near a forest. I was afraid from the forest, "Maybe the enemy hiding there!". I was watched the forest carefully. In the next early morning we moved in to the forest we walked for hours without stopping. The soldiers was unhappy some of them left their staff in the ground and they walk away from it because it was really heavy. So they can movie quickly we still looking for a new regiment. I thought that it's not a real war I think that it's just a practicing. Then in gray morning the army began to run. I woke up and start running away from them i was really afraid to falling down. My heart was beating very fast i was surprised that they where not a big battlefield. It was a small green fields with trees all around them. I saw a solider laying in the ground dead, with broken arm. I don't want to see this again in the same time i don't want to see the battlefield. We stopped in a large open space in a forest, we still hear the sound of rifle fire. They could see little balls of white smoke from the rifles. Many of the soldiers built a hill in front of then to protect them selfs from the fire shooting. Suddenly the loud soldier came to me and i saw the tears in his eyes, he was shaking and he told me "I'm going to die" he give me a small package in a yellow envelope. He told me "There are some letters inside. I want you to give them to my family."
Sad situation here, but great post. Stories like this are wonderful because they question the definition of "courage" and use that idea to help us reset the value of life in general. War is a painful, horrifying thing, and this story does a great job of reflecting that fact too. Keep up the good work!
