Henry Fleming

Next day i woke up and saw a horses ran with the men , pulling cannon on wheels. There is some soldiers was screaming because they get hit in the hand and some of them was covering their staff. Far away, the battle flag was falling and there was a smoke and fire all around. I saw the blue solders running into us and shouting ant there sounds mixed with the fire shooting. I saw the fear on there faces. I was thinking to run away but my legs refused to move. A young officer stood back of the regiment. " Don't fire boys! wait until i tell you! Wait until they come close!" We stopped the fire and suddenly a crowd of enemy soldier came running across the felid, shouting wildly. I saw the officers stayed behind the soldiers, shouting orders. I was shocked, i thought that he must move with as and fight, not just standing and giving us orders. They enemy through the thick smoke a man dropped his rifle and run away screaming an officer stopped him and start looking to his eyes, he push him back to the line.

  1. What a horrific scene! Try to write a little about Henry's perceived psychological perspective as well. What do you think he is thinking as all of this stuff goes on around him?
